Gray's 2nd Birthday

I'm not sure where the last two years have gone, but they have gone by so fast. Gray turned two on Friday. He's happy and active and I wouldn't trade him for anything.

Gray got lots of birthday wishes on Friday, starting with the ladies at Allen Eye Associates. Have I mentioned lately how great they are? We had to stop by there before school for our normal Friday morning glasses adjustment.

We ended the day with dinner at IHOP. Those terrible twos have already started. We were "those people" with a screaming kid at the restaurant. It was tough to decide whether to stay and eat or just walk out. Luckily he calmed down when the food came and proceeded to eat his entire "Silver 5" dinner.

Grandmommy, Granddaddy, and Granny Debbie came to visit on Saturday. We all went to Nate's football game. Granny stayed for Gray's party

Gray got some nice presents from his family. He loves them all. He got a Tigger towel, dinosaur bath sponge, My Pal Scout, Mickey Mouse dinnerware, Disney pajamas, a tractor, a Mickey Mouse lawn chair, a Mickey Mouse book, and a tricycle.

We headed to the park for his party and it was WINDY. I tried to set up some decorations, but they almost blew away. Gray's friends Carter, Daniel, Brett, Lily, Ashleigh, Ellie, and Luke came out to celebrate. They had a great time playing on the playground. We had pizza delivered for dinner. When the stack of pizzas blew off the table we decided it was time to move the party to our house. We came home, had pizza, ate cake, and the kids played more. We're blessed to have such great friends.

A tradition we started this year is to ask our friends to make a donation to a charity instead of bringing a birthday gift. We picked Project Linus for Gray's birthday. Project Linus provides blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or are otherwise in need of a new, handmade blanket. Gray received a Project Linus blanket during one of his hospital stays as an infant. We received several very nice blankets and a cash donation that we will deliver to Project Linus. Thanks to all of our friends who made donations.

Here are some pictures from Gray's birthday.
