Nateisms
Nate has been saying some pretty funny stuff lately.
Last night I opened the door (just in time to see Nate take a sip of Kenny's beer) to tell Kenny and Nate that supper was ready. As they were getting up Nate says "life is good."
I was telling Nate that my doctor was late to my appointment today because she was delivering another woman's baby. He says "why would you put a baby in a box?"
Later we were talking about the special medicine you can take so you don't feel things (anesthesia) and he remembered that Kenny didn't have that option when he got his "permanent stamp" (aka tattoo) and that he wouldn't get one because he didn't want it to hurt.

Summer 2011
Since I haven't posted pictures all summer in a while, here is a slide show of pictures from this summer. (Sorry about the spacing, I can't figure out how to fix the HTML.)

Random Wednesday 8/31/11
Because it's Wednesday, I'm random, and I have more to say than I can put on Facebook.
- I picked up AHS football tickets and drove by the stadium construction. I.can't.wait. to go to a game there.
- Writing goals is my least favorite thing to do for work.
- Nate's homework for the week: Write one character and one academic goal for the school year...with measurements.
- Gray is getting a hang of the whole potty thing. His sole purpose in life: to put poop in the potty.
- I'm still disappointed that Nate's football season start got pushed back due to heat. I'm ready to see the boy play in a real game.
- Gray starts soccer practice tomorrow. Go NTX Eagles!
- I shocked Kenny this morning by wearing a dress to work. When he asked why, I told him it was new and I was tired of waistbands.
- I need this dress in 8 or 9 colors so I can wear it every day. It's so comfortable.
- We haven't picked out a name for the baby yet, but I have picked out bedding!
- I have to get to
back towork.

Wednesday Rambles 5/25
Because I feel listy today:
- We officially wrapped up spring football on Sunday with our end of season party. It was a great season. The team ended up in third place.
- We're already gearing up for fall football. We had a meeting with an equipment rep and all the boys got fitted for pads and helmets. Apparently we're the only team that turns this kind of thing into a party. We had pizza, watermelon, and cake pops. The Riddell rep was impressed.
- Whoever invented the phrase "terrible twos" did not have a three year old. Gray is definitely three. Does anyone want to take him for a year?
- I think I'm getting over the nauseous part of the pregnancy. Some foods still make me sick, as does any food when I'm already full. But, the list of things that sound good is growing.
- I'm still tired, but it could be that we're still busy. Here's what's going on this week: Sunday - church and football party, Monday - concert in the park and Kenny at a coaching clinic, Tuesday - Kenny at a coaching clinic and storms, Wednesday - football fitting for a few kids and Amber at hand chimes practice, Thursday - Nate wants to go see Kung Fu Panda, Friday - birthday party, Saturday - tour Cowboys stadium before our Groupon expires and head to GV, Sunday - hanging with the family in GV. And then it all starts over on Monday.
- I just realized I'm going to be missing the "Is God Green?" lesson at Sunday School this week. I was looking forward to that.
- I'm not sure why Nate's even going to school these last two weeks. Today his class is taking a walking field trip to the park. Tomorrow they're signing yearbooks. The class party is on Friday. They're off on Monday. Field Day is on Tuesday. They're flying kites on the last day of school.
- I wish I was in first grade.
- We managed to escape the storms last night. It seems like just as the storm got to us it split and the break went right over our house. Unfortunately the boys and I were already hiding in the very small bathroom.
- I
figured out how to workpunched a bunch of buttons until our weather radio turned on last night. Then it kept coming back on with warnings. I'm glad it will alert us now, but it sure made it hard to sleep last night. - I think this is enough.
- Blogger is killing me with spacing issues today.

Barnicles 4/29/11
Here's what's going on in the Barnes house:
- Football season is wrapping up. Nate's last regular season game is Saturday. He has a playoff game next week, and possibly one game after that. I'm ready for a break.
- Gray started back into gymnastics. Nate finally got moved into a Monday night class at gymnastics. Then a spot opened for Gray's class. It's nice to have them both in an activity at the same time.
- Nate is quitting gymnastics. Kenny has talked him into a general fitness class with one of his football teammates. After all my hard work of getting them scheduled at the same time.
- Fall football is getting started. Kenny has been working with the football board preparing for the fall season. More importantly, Kenny and his coaches have been recruiting like crazy for the fall team. I've been working with the team moms to raise funds. We had a pretty successful golf tournament. Hopefully our other fundraisers go well. Football equipment is expensive.
- Our family received a little surprise a few weeks ago. Actually, we'll receive the surprise sometime around December 9th. That's right, I'm pregnant. We're crazy busy with two kids. I'm not sure how we'll handle three, but I'm sure that God will help us figure it out. Please let it be a girl. I need to balance out some of the testosterone in our house.
