Just another week...

It's been another busy week in the Barnes household.

Nate started off the weekend by going camping with Kenny's family. Grandaddy, Uncle Vince, Cousins Stephen, Shelley, and JD took most of the kids (Trevor, Taylor, Tatum, Madison, Katie, Becky, Lauren, Cooper, Ryan, Nate, Trey and Ty) camping. Nate had a great time doing traditional camping stuff like eating hot dogs and roasting marshmallows. He got up Saturday morning and went to watch Cooper play football.

Kenny and I enjoyed hanging out with some friends and playing Wii while we only had one kid (the one who will go to sleep anywhere).

We picked Nate up on Saturday and Granny Debbie came up too. Granny babysat so Kenny and I could go to a birthday party. It was a big weekend for Kenny and I, going out two nights.

Sunday morning was Nate's big game. He had a lot of fun playing in the big stadium. Thanks to all of our friends that came out to see him play. Unfortunately he didn't get to play as much as normal. He did very well on the plays that he did participate in. He also behave extremely well while he was on the sidelines. Kenny did review all of our other game footage and this is the first game that Nate didn't play his fair share. It makes me a little sad that this was the game he got short changed on, but I know there was a lot going on and the coaches were having a hard time communicating, so we'll chalk it up to that.

We had lunch with friends, then tried to get a little more housework done before it was time to head back to work.

Gray started daycare on Monday and its going well. His teachers are very nice. He's doing well and always seems happy when we see him there.

Nate got his first report card on Monday. He got all good marks. The main thing his teacher said he needs to work on is following classroom rules. She said the good thing is that he respects authority and obeys when she redirects him. Ms. Jeannie said he loves to learn and does a good job on his work.

Tomorrow I'll take Gray to the ophthalmologist. The geneticist said Gray has a 50-50% chance of having problems similar to Kenny and Nate's.

We have a big (football) weekend coming up too. Grandview's homecoming is this weekend, so we're heading down there. Nate will get to be in the parade and we'll go to the game. We'll get up and go to Cooper's game, then head back to Allen for Nate's game Saturday afternoon.

Saturday evening is Oktoberfest at our church and I'm looking forward to that. Maybe we'll get to rest after church on Sunday. Nah, we'll probably have more laundry to do. I guess we can rest when we retire (too bad the current economic situation is eating away at our 401(k)s). :)
