If you've ever spent much time with Kenny and I you know that Tarleton State University holds a very special place in our hearts. We both started at TSU with the intention of transferring to A&M, but found that we loved Tarleton too much to leave.
There are many great things about Tarleton, but most important our the traditions. Homecoming week is especially full of traditions. Since we couldn't go to Stephenville, we brought a little homecoming to our house.
Your eyes are not deceiving you. Those are purple pancakes and they are an integral part of Tarleton Homecoming.
On the Thursday of Homecoming Week the students have Midnight Breakfast. It's hard to make kids wait until midnight to eat, so we had ours around 7:00 pm. We also refrained from the traditional food fight. Nate was worried that the pancakes would taste funny, but pronounced that they were good after his first bite. He ate almost four. Gray chowed down too. He loves pancakes and eggs. Gray also felt that Franklin should be included and gave him a pancake.
Our "Midnight Breakfast" was yummy, but I think it only made me more sad that we won't be traveling to Stephenville for the L. V. Risinger Bonfire, the Homecoming Parade, or to cheer number 13 TSU on against number nine Abilene Christian.
Just in case anyone didn't believe me yesterday here is Gray begging to wear his jacket.
And here is a shot of him trying to go to bed with it on.
I hope he outgrows the attachment before next summer.
