Today has been a long day. Nate had a football game at 1:00. Of course it was freezing cold and super windy. Nate, along with a couple of other boys, didn't really want to play. He did go in for a few plays and had one really great run. It seems that bad weather is a weakness for the Eagles. The boys were able to overcome the weather and some rather poor officiating to win 16 to 9. The coaches were a little animated today. I thought one or two of them might get thrown out, but they managed to stay just within the referees' thresholds.
After the game we came home to get ready for Gray's party. It was a farm theme and was supposed to be at a park near our house. Due to the weather we had to have it in our house. I was really counting on the playground as the entertainment. Luckily the kids thought the costume box was great. Thank you after Halloween sales!
We did manage to get outside for a few minute to do the crazy chicken egg hunt. It was not an Easter egg hunt, but a crazy chicken egg hunt. Chicken eggs because of the farm theme and crazy because the eggs were colored. OK, maybe it was an Easter egg hunt, but the kids loved it.
You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a farm theme cake. Luckily the girl at the Tom Thumb bakery agreed to give it a try. I think it turned out great (even if he is a cross-eyed cow)!
Here's Gray with his cake. He couldn't wait to dig in as you can tell by the small amount of icing already on the tray.
