As most of you know Gray's first medical issue was that he would get agitated and stop breathing. Since then we've been through the ringer with other issues (cataracts, ear infections, months of colds, etc). We've come full circle and Gray started having the breathing problems again over 4th of July. The episodes would last 20 to 30 seconds. I think he only turned (a good, solid) blue once, but he got pretty purple several times.
We got in to see the pulmonolgist about it on Thursday. Dr. Rembecki listened to his lungs and didn't here anything abnormal. We discussed some of his symptoms (excessive drooling that could be caused by teething or reflux, back arching) and the doctor recommended that we start by treating him for acid reflux. This is the same thing we started with the first time around.
Dr. Trone checked out Gray's upper airway when he put the ear vent tubes in, so we don't think there is anything weird going on there this time.
We started Gray on Prevacid Thursday afternoon. So far it's looking promising. He seems to be drooling a lot less anyway. We haven't had any episodes since he started the medicine either.
Please keep Gray and his health in your prayers.
